What is GoodFat?
GoodFat is an iPhone app that helps you pay attention to fat quality and inflammatory load in your meals. It uses Apple Intelligence on the phone. Instead of obsessing over raw calorie counts, GoodFat helps you spot calming omega-3s, monitor ultra-processed ingredients, and choose meals that support how you feel, sleep, and think.
Which iPhones can run it?
GoodFat 2.0 needs Apple Intelligence turned on. That is an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16 or later, or iPhone Air, on iOS 26. If Apple Intelligence is off, the app asks you to turn it on in Settings.
How does the inflammatory score work?
The score (0–100) reflects the inflammatory load of your logged meals based on fat balance (omega-6 to omega-3 ratio), processing level (such as industrial seed oils and NOVA indicators), and whole-food ingredients. Lower is better: green indicates calm fats, amber means mixed, and red suggests swapping for gentler options.
Is GoodFat medical advice?
No. GoodFat and its inflammatory score are educational and awareness tools inspired by peer-reviewed nutrition science. They are not medical devices, clinical diagnostic tools, or healthcare advice. Consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical questions.
Are my food photos stored on your servers?
No. A meal photo is read on your iPhone with Apple Intelligence and Vision. GoodFat does not upload the photo and does not keep a photo library of your meals.
Does Ask send my question to the cloud?
No. Ask uses Apple Intelligence on the iPhone, then looks the food up in the catalog stored on the device. A food you confirm can still sync with your account. The photo and the chat do not.
How do I log meals?
Snap a photo, scan a barcode, or describe the meal in Ask. Apple Intelligence names the food on the iPhone. You confirm the amount before it is logged.
How do I cancel or manage my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store. You can manage or cancel anytime in Settings → Subscriptions on the iPhone, or in GoodFat under Settings → Manage subscription.
How can I restore my purchase?
Open the GoodFat app, go to Settings, and tap 'Restore purchases'. If you are on the paywall screen, you can also tap 'Restore' in the top right corner.
How do I delete my account and data?
You can permanently delete your account and all associated food logs anytime directly inside the app by heading to Settings > Delete account.
